valium, dramamine, phenergan, compro, meds should only be used for short XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Vertigo is usually due to conditions related to the inner ear though there are other causes as well.
Inner ear causes are : (1) BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo)- episodes last seconds to minutes, occur with certain head positions

(2)meniere's- associated with hearing loss and abnormal noises such as ringing in the ear. Episodes last minutes usually

(3)vestibular neuronitis- this is the most common cause out of the three. episodes last hours, may be a recent infection.
Medication should only be used for a SHORT period of time (few days) to allow the body to heal on its own.

Medications for vertigo include the meclizine that you mentioned or : (1)valium
(2)dramamine
(3)phenergan
(4)compro

If you find that the dizziness occurs with certain head positions then it may be BPPV though there are certain examination findings that should be present and you would also need the EPLEY maneuver.
This is a series of movements to help BPPV.

The type of vertigo should be determined by your doctor

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
