I have high blood pressure (controlled), t wave inversion in inferior leads (stress echo showed no issue) and a slight heart murmur (no pathology/functional. I've started noticing that my resting heart rate is substantially higher than my colleagues. My waking HR this am was 95. I exercise three to four times a week playing cardio intensive tennis, weigh 187 at 5'10 an am otherwise healthy. How concerned should I be about my resting heart rate, could I have a sinus tachycardia?
Its on a higher side but within normal limits
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Tachycardia is heart rate of more than 100. So yours is in higher normal range. I guess you don't have any symptoms like palpitations, shortness of breath or dizziness.
Usually the cause for this anxiety, low hemoglobin, elevated thyroid levels. Since, you already have undergone the required investigations and being normal, this doesn't appear to be a matter of worry. You may get anxious while taking heart rate readings which may elevate heart rate. You should take heart rate readings not after exertion but after a rest of 5-10 min. Also, calm yourself prior to it. You should also get hemoglobin, thyroid test done if not done recently.
Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts.
