Gurgling with lukewarm water should be helpful.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Tonsillitis is often associated with respiratory tract infections in children. Most often, gurgling with lukewarm water multiple times a day provides relief. Unless associated with fever, antibiotics are not always necessary and irrespective of use of antibiotics, the episodes last 5-7 days. So, I do not think that Rocephin shots are required. It is unlikely to provide any additional benefit. Just complete the course of Augmentin. It is a good antibiotic anyway. In case the infection enters blood stream, fever would be present. Unless fever is present, you need not worry about infection entering the blood stream.
Hope that helps.
