Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!
Regarding your concern, I would explain that the arterial hypertension caused by pheochromocytoma, if untreated, can lead to long term changes in the heart and blood vessels, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and thickening of blood vessels, including also aneurysm formation.
From the other hand, blood pressure spikes can also lead to brain hemorrhage and heart attack.
For this reason, it is important to treat this disorder as soon as possible and treat high blood pressure values.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Hi, thank you for answering! Also, how quickly does this cause aneurysm formation? And is it exclusive to the aorta? Or heart blood vessels too? I had been told that my metanephrines were raised but within normal parameters, now because of ongoing symptoms they’re suggesting a repeat test because it is the most likely diagnosis. Hence my curiosity!

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!
Regarding your concern, I would explain that the time of formation of aneurysms ( including the aorta) depend on many individual characteristics ( including age, genetics, presence of diabetes or connective tissue disorders, etc) and the period of uncontrolled arterial hypertension and its severity.
Hope you will find this information helpful!
Wishing all the best,
