Brief Answer:
Practice safe period in addition.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.

With regular cycles, ovulation can be predicted more accurately. This gives you the safe period also, during which time it is safe to have intercourse.

Ovulation occurs two weeks prior to the onset of the next menstrual period and the week prior to it and 3-4 days after it, is the fertile period. The sperms can remain viable up to 7 days at the most while the ovum can remain alive for 24 hours. Thus, this span of ten days is given. The rest of the cycle is safe.

You can abstain from intercourse during the fertile days, thus practicing safe period. You can also use diaphragm and spermicidal suppositories in addition to condoms for double benefit. These are some of the ways to prevent conception without hormone usage.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

regards,

Brief Answer:
Yes.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing again.

Yes. Intercourse can be done without using condoms by using hormonal contraception, but, please remember, this cannot protect you from sexually transmitted diseases. You can choose from several of the available combinations after consulting a specialist for a proper clinical evaluation to check if you are fit to use hormones.

Hope this helps. Please write back if you need any more clarifications. I will be glad to help.
