Question : Hi Doctor, I'm 27 M, is dersol-30 salycilic acid ointment, good enough to get rid of acne/pimples on the face? Is it safe? Besides, i also would need to get away with the left behind acne marks. please advice. If not what would be the best solution. Thanks in advance.

Please find the pictures attached. This was suggested by a local dermatologist. I also have not used any medication on my skin before. Otherwise use garnier acne free face wash. Should you need any more info please let me know. Thanks!

Hi again

I have seen the attached pictures.

You have many active acne lesions along with scars of old pimples .
So according to my assessment,you surely need some oral anti acne agents along .
In my patients with such a presentation ,I would have given clindamycin gel in the morning along with Aziderm gel at night . Thus would help in dealing with both active pimples and the old scars .
A short term course of tablet azithromycin 500 mg once a day for five days would surely help in decreasing pimples .
In addition,avoid using any oil or moisturisers over face or oil .
Use an oil free sunscreen regularly during day time to prevent darkening of pimple scars .

Thank you so much im running to the chemist to buy it, how long would it take to heel in my case? Would there be some kind of skin peel?

Yes

Aziderm cream might cause some drying of the skin along with skin peeling . Also mild irritation can occur .
So apply Aziderm cream only night over the pimples and the acne scars. Do not run it too much.Just apply a little amount over the affected areas.
Use clindamycim cream only in the morning over the active pimples .
