Question : How does the death process from a brain tumor proceed. All treatments and experimental drugs have been tried to no avail. How does this usually move forward from this point?
Brief Answer:
This can be a difficult scenario
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
It appears that the patient has already received all possible treatment. In that case only supportive and palliative care is possible.
Problems mostly result from brain compression, can include altered sense, seizures, paralysis of limbs and cranial nerves, swallowing difficulty and later inability to sustain spontaneous breaths.
Other problems are various infections, blood clots in veins, long term steroid related complications like gastric bleeds, hypertension, diabetes, etc.
Hope this helps.
Regards
