How Is Mtp Kit For Abortion Used?
Question: Hi, I took an mtp kit and it's now 6+ hours after the misoprostol and I have very light bleeding with one small clot. How long do I have to wait to take another dose?

You can take the second dose of misoprostal after 18 hours. The bleeding will gradually increase and the complete expulsion of products will be there.
Generally, 1 tablet of Mifepristone is taken orally.
24 hours later, 2 tablets of 200 mcg Cytotec/ misoprostol are taken orally or vaginally followed by 2 more such tablets another 24 hours later.
After this procedure, bleeding and cramping might continue for upto 2 - 3 weeks.
It is also vital to have a follow up ultrasound scan to check that the abortion pills worked and the uterus is empty, after 15 days of taking the tablets.
Failing to take these precautions , there are risks such as - infection, uncontrolled bleeding, retained products, undiagnosed ectopic pregnancy etc.
And if these steps are followed, the pills work in more than 95 % of cases.

So, im out of medicTion and waiting for more, im thinking i should just repeat the whole process? I should be able to next weekend. Is it ok to try again, i'll only be 5-6 weeks at the end of this week. So you think it's o.k.? Or is there too much risk?
