Question : My 9 month old son is suffering from measles since last two days. He was administered MMR vaccine about 20 days ago. We are very much worried.. kindly help us with precious advice..
Brief Answer:
Regarding vaccine induced measles
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you.
I am Dr kakkar (Dermatologist and Venereologist). Some children may develop a mild form of measles, a few days of vaccination since the MMR vaccine is a live though attenuated virus. I suggest you to give just symptomatic treatment e.g a soothing lotion ( Calamine lotion) for the skin rash and paracetamol for fever, if any. The episode should subside in a few days.
Regards
