Brief Answer:
A possible premature coronary artery disease could be the cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I am sorry for the lost of your beloved person!

Regarding your question, I would like to explain that some evidences confirm the relation between psoriasis and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, but many studies have failed to find any rational pathogenic connection between them.

So this point is still a matter of uncertainty.

I don't know if there is clear evidence of existing hypertrophic cardiomyopathy diagnosis, but I could say that what is thoroughly studied and scientifically widely excepted is that psoriasis diagnosed individuals do suffer from premature coronary disease.

They frequently are complicated with premature unstable angina and myocardial infarction from their forties and sometimes even thirties, including subsequent complications such as heart failure, cardiac arrhythmia and even sudden cardiac death as well.

Further more he was a diabetic, which is an important coronary risk factor, leading also to premature coronary artery disease.

To conclude, though we can’t confirm or even exclude a hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (which may also be complicated with serious cardiac arrhythmia and sudden death), and we also can not exclude a possible severe allergic/ anaphylactic reaction, which could have brought to such a fatal event (death), the most convincing and medically confirmed is a possible association of psoriasis (and diabetes) with premature coronary artery disease, which may have leaded to sudden cardiac death.

A most reliable scientific conclusion could be drawn by an explorative autopsy.

Hope to have been helpful!

Wishing good health!

Dr. Iliri
