Bipolar Disorder

Detailed Answer:
-Hello.Delighted to be able to help.
The diagnosis of Bipolar disorder is established in function of the patient's symptoms .Bipolar is a patient with depressive symptoms, maniac symptoms or combination of both symptoms.
The most common depressive symptoms of are:
lack of energy , constant crying , lack of interest in any matter , loss of memory , attention - concentration , negative thoughts , thoughts of suicide or death, alteration of appetite and sleep disturbance.
The most common maniac symptoms are:
excessive optimism, euphoria , hyperactivity , insomnia, increased sex drive , excessive spending of money.
Years ago to establish the diagnosis of bipolar disorder was necessary that the patient had suffered a depressive crisis + a maniac crisis throughout his life.
Currently with only a intense depressive crisis or only a intense maniac crisis, diagnosis of bipolar disorder can be established.
Some patients are surprised when the doctor informs them of the diagnosis of bipolar disorder because they have had only depressive or maniac symptoms .
In function of the characteristics of symptoms , family history ... the doctor can know that depressive patient will also have maniac symptoms in the future or that maniac patient will also have depressive symptoms in the future .
If you've had most of the mentioned depressive symptoms , most of the mentioned maniac symptoms or a combination of both symptoms,
bipolar disorder is more likely diagnosis.

Hello.Delighted to be able to help.
Hyponcondria(obsessive thoughts about diseases) is a pathology or a depressive symptom, many patients with depression have thoughts hypochondriacs.
Alteration of electrolyte and dehydration are not, initially, associated with maniac crisis. Maniac and depressive symptoms are easy to diagnose for the physician.
If your physician has established the diagnosis of bipolar disorder, most likely is a right diagnosis. For this, the prescription of valproate and olanzapine is right, you will feel better taking these drugs and you will have a good social and work adaptation.
