Hi,

Thank you for writing in.

Serlift contains sertraline. It is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI)
It is used to treat depression, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, phobia), and a severe form of premenstrual syndrome (premenstrual dysphoric disorder).

The dosage and duration is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. On an average it can be continued for months to year.Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Do not take more or less medication or take it more frequently than prescribed.

It may take up to 4 weeks before the full benefit of this drug takes effect.

Sertraline is different from Prothiaden. Prothiadin contains dothiepin. It is a tricyclic antidepressant drug.

Prothiaden is relatively mild and can be used to treat low levels of anxiety, depression and chronic pain disorders. It can cause drowsiness as a side effect and may be most useful in treating depression in people who are anxious, agitated or suffer from disturbances in sleep.

Hope this answers your query. Please get back if you require additional clarification.
