How Long Do Side Effects Of Steroids Last?

Question: Thank you in advance.. How long will it take for the side effects that are for certain from the steroids in 3 lumbar and 1 cervical epidural injections I had over course of 2 months..it has been 3 weeks since my last injection. I have a very puffy/swollen face, ( moon face) a very bloated uncomfortable stomach. I am female, 5'6" and weighed 115. and 35 years old. I have gained nearly 10 pounds and my stomach looks like it did when I was six month pregnant. My digestive system is off, with terrible gas, constipation ( i used to be regular every day) a feeling that food is sitting in my stomach. I also have hot flashes, sweating at night and very irregular menstrual cycles coming every 10 day and lasting 10- 15 days! PLEASE help. I know my body & healthy very well and I know these are side effects for me. Can you tell me how long for it to clear my system AND how long it will take for these very uncomfortable side effects Ive described, to go away?? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your answer!!
Brief Answer:
2-3 months.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Unfortunately I don't think there is a set answer because it seems to be quite an individual thing, how you react to going on steroids and coming off them.
On average about a couple of months before you really start noticing that you're recovering from them in terms of getting energy back and maybe starting to lose the extra weight.
But you can quicken the process by regular exercise and dieting and taking high amount of fibers for constipation .
Also take calcium tablets.
