Question : Not feeling well for 2 weeks had fever clogged ears and decreased hearing. Went to md referred to eent . Tomorrow. Was given me living hcl 25mg. And amoxicillin potassium 875 125 mg. have taken 3 days still extremely week and ska key not really dizzy. My question would it take this long to see improvement ? Thank you XXXX

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It can sometimes take a few weeks for relief occur in some cases.

If the bacteria causing the allergic reaction is not responsive or is resistant to the bacteria used then this would cause lack of response.
An alternative antibiotic would need to be used.

In addition the use of a anti histamine decongestant combination would also be helpful as well to relieve the clogged feeling in the ears.
Anti histamine decongestants would be available over the counter eg benadryl d, claritine d, zyrtec d, allegra d

If there is no response then medication would need to be added such as singulair or ketotifen
