How Long Does Effexor Take To Be Effective?
Question: My doctor prescribed Effexor (75 mg. ER 1/day) since I have been on chronic pain meds for several years because of spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease and bulging discs. How long will it take to start becoming the happier person I have been all of my life since before this onslaught of bad luck?

Venlafaxine is a Bicyclic antidepressant drug. It takes at least two to three weeks to become effective. You should continue the medication for two to three weeks even if there is no improvement in the symptoms.
