How Long Does IBS Take To Get Cured?

Question : Ok so it has been two weeks since I've been able to eat anything because of the nausea and diarrhea. My doctors have be on medications for the symptoms but whatever is causing this is getting worse. I still have to wait until Thursday to see the gastrologist.

even bread upsets my stomach and the pain can be excruciating

If this was ibs shouldn't I be seeing an improvement since I'm not eating?

IBS is a functional disorder. Changes in diet do improvers IBS symptoms. Food items which aggravates IBS symptoms should be avoided, Not complete food.

For your symptoms better to get evaluated by your gastroenterologist . It's least likely to be IBS, but needs through evaluation.

Unfortunately I haven't found anything I can eat. everything causes and adverse reaction. All the tests have come back negative. I've already lost 3 lbs since last week.

my primary mentioned they are likely to scope me. what will a scope find that's different from a ct scan?

Hi, thanks for follow up query.

GI scope helps visualize mucosa (inner lining of GI) directly. And can take biopsy to examine under microscope for fine details.
In CT scan we can't see fine microscopic details of mucosa.
