How Long Does Norco Remain In The System For A Drug Urine Test?

default
Posted on Tue, 7 Jun 2016
Question: Since I have been on Norco 10-35 x 4 for several months (per a Dr.'s script after 2 major back surgeries)) how long will it take to clear my system so it will not be detected on a drug urine test. In addition, will switching to Tylenol 4 w/codeine 2 days before the urine test have an effect on the Norco detection ? Also, will the Tylenol 4 show up on a drug urine test ?

Brief Answer:
It does not affect the detection

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

Hydrocodon and paracetamol have half life of approximately four hours and clearance from system may take from 5-7 half lifes. Considering this they should be eliminated from your system in around 30 hours and more precisely less than two days..

I must acknowledge that chance of detection from second day onwards is very low but to be certain two days abstinence will be required as rate of metabolism varies from person to person.

Switching to tylenol unlikely to help you as metabolites of earlier drug remains in the system and can be picked by urine test if done within 48 hours of last use.

Tylenol is not tested for its presence as its isolated presence is not an indication of abuse or addiction.

I hope this answers your question.

Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for follow up.

If the amount of codeine in blood is quite high to get detected by blood tests it will show up in urine test.

I hope this clarifies further.
