Question : Hi Doctor,
My Doctor gave me Ovutrig 250mg injection on tuesday and we did an transvaginal ultra sound on Thursday and till then I had not ovulated. How much time does it take for the injection to act and release the eggs since my follical size was 19mm on tuesday.

Hello Mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
Ovulation occurs after 36-40 hours of trigger injection usually and in case it doesn't then a repeat injection of different type is given for ovulation.
Now it is late for everything but still at least get a scan to confirm if if ruptured at all or has become a cyst instead.
From next time onwards you will need a higher dose or different injection for trigger.
Also avoid painkillers near the time of ovulation as they also interfere with ovulation.

Hi Doctor,

We had a follow up scan on Thursday and as per the doctor the follicle had ruptured but the egg was not released. Is there any chances that the release of egg might have happened later?

Still good chances of pregnancy

No dear, it is not possible that a ruptured follicle doesn't release a follicle only.
Moreover if at all it happens it cannot be evaluated by ultrasound.
If follicle got ruptured then there are good chances of pregnancy.
So just relax and let's hope for the best.
