Brief Answer:
PID may not have symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to HCM,

PID is sexually transmitted disease. It occurs most of time by bacteria gonorhhea. It travels through female genital tract and reach to tubes where it attacks tubes wall and cilia and damages it.

White discharge along with abdomen pain are symptoms which usually occur during PID.

Sometime it presents without symptoms and diagonsed incidentally on ultrasound examination as free fluid in pouch of XXXXXXX

So, if you had PID, it is not necessary for you to have florid symptoms.

Usually it needs antibiotic treatment and does not clear by itself.

Hope this helps.
Feel free to ask further.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
TVS can detect PID.

Detailed Answer:
Sorry for late response,

Transvaginal ultrasound can show findings of PID even when asymptomatic.

Endometriosis of ovary does not progress towards tubes.
But tubes themselves are the site for endometriosis. This can damage cilia .

Hope this answers your query satisfactorily.

Thanks.
