Question : I am having surgery and need to be able to take pain meds-I am on suboxen and have waited and now am panicking on how to wean off in time for the surgery. I do have pain meds I could use to buffer but probably will get back on the suboxen after the surgery

I understand your concern.

Weaning off suboxone requires long time (several months). But, they will ask you to stop taking it 36 hours before surgery, and then after surgery can re-take it without having signs of withdrawal.
