Question : Hi ! I an wondering if a possible broken thumb or thumb mid knuckle is broken or ? If so can it heal itself if, I, as I have been, keep it straight wearing medical tape and a metal finger support. I haven't been to the doctor yet for an x-ray or a diagnosis. Thank you for your help !!!

Hello, Welcome to HCM,

Bruising, swelling, and loss of range of motion would mean a likely fracture. Splinting and Ibuprofen can help for now, but unless it's a lot better in a day or two you really should have a doctor to look at it.
