Question : I had an iud inserted 13 yes ago. I am 48 yrs old. Am skipping periods....possibly peri menopause. Am I in danger of pregnancy?
Brief Answer:
no age is too old for pregnancy.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.
Longest half life is of Paragard. Its effective for upto 10-12 years. What type of IUD did you use?
I think your IUD would not work now.
Also, no age is too old for pregnancy. Though, the chances of pregnancy are too low at your age.
Its better to practice safe sexual intercourse until you have achieved menopause.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
