Sometimes it can take many months to fully heal.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
I guess you had developed severe grade ankle sprain. Generally it takes 6-8 weeks to heal but sometimes it can take many months to fully heal.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care

What else can I do to make this more tolerable? I have an elastic wrap that hurts sometimes, and feels better at others. I keep it with me, and use it accordingly. I take Ibuprofen for anti-inflammatory effects....but is there anything else that would help this horrid sprain?

Brief Answer:
Need to do rehabilitation exercises.
Detailed Answer:
Hello mam,
Sorry for late reply,
Now you need to do rehabilitation (rehab) exercises to strengthen the muscle around. These exercises are critical to ensure that the ankle heals completely and reinjury does not occur. You can learn these exercises by your physiotherapist.
Warm regards.
