Question : How can I rid my blood system of continine? I am supposed to have my 8th. back surgery, all of my previous surgeries have turned out very good, but one of my fusions is breaking down and they will not operate until my blood tests negative for tobacco. I will be 70 in May, and can barley walk from the pain.. These prior surgeries happened 20 to 30 years ago.. Please help me!!!

Brief Answer:
It will take few days to clear up

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

Unfortunately we do not have anything which can hasten the clearance of tobacco from blood systems other than quitting it altogether and having plenty of fluids.

In case you find it difficult to quit than the option of bupropion can be explored as treatment. I understand that it often takes time but more than half of the individuals with smoking succeed in quitting smoking while on bupropion.

I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards.
