Brief Answer:
3 months averagely

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
During hernia repair there are 3 nerves manipulated and parastesias or diesthesias are not unusual after surgery. In most cases it subsides completely in 3 months and in 10% of cases it may persist permanently in different degrees but even done, some degree of sensation is preserved. Wish you good health. Regards
