Question : Hi my name is XXXXXXX and I have a question. I've just been treated for Gonorrhea awhile ago and the symptoms have gone away completely. When me and my partner have sex my partner would like to swallow my semen. I want to know if it's safe to swallow the semen just in case the infection might still be in the semen, or once I've been treated is the virus completely gone from my system? Thank you.

                                    Brief Answer:
Better to avoid.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
Welcome to health care magic
I have gone through the details.
Gonorrhea usually takes 1-3 weeks to respond. You can get a follow up smear and culture done.
Some gonorrhea bacterial organism may persist. Some may be resistant .Some may be asymptomatic too.
Usually semen ingestion does not cause any problems. But some diseases like herpes ,HPV can be transmitted .Gonorrhea also can cause sorethroat symptoms if present in semen.
It is better to avoid for now.
You can get back for any clarification.
Thank you
