How Long Does Herpes Zoster Take To Get Cured?
Question: Hello Sir/Mam,
My dad has been diagnosed with hepres zoster 10 days back. It started from mid back & has reached nearby heart. He is suffering from severe muscle pain, heart pain. Boils & rashes give burning sensation. We have done 3 days ayurvedic local(village side medicine). And now doctor has prescribed following medicines:
Mahagaba M-75 for 1 month(only at night).
Omez capsule for 1 week(Before food morning).
Ocuvir-800DT 3 times for 1 week.
Derma Dew lotion.
After both types of medications he is feeling slightly better.
Please guide me on how long it will take to get fully cured? Are there any side effects of these medications?Should Mahagaba M-75 for 1 month(only at night) have to be taken for 1 complete month.

I have noted your dad's symptoms. He is suffering from herpes zoster, a viral infection affecting skin. His current medications are fine.
In some cases, the virus infects the underlying nerves in the skin, which give rise to pain, burning and tingling sensations. This condition is referred to as post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN).
Mahagaba-M 75 can be continued for one month or longer depending on his condition. If needed, it can be given two times daily also.
Recovery may take 1-3 months.
