Brief Answer:
It takes 48 to 72 hours for bowel movement

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
Dear Mr

After resection and anastomosis of bowel, it may take 48 to 72 hours for the anastomosis to open up and for one to have bowel movements provided there is no electrolyte imbalance.
It does not depend on length of resection, it depends on integrity of anastomosis.

In case you require any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take care
