Question : Hi, I,have a cold and have lost my voice. I am wondering how long I will need to stay home and rest as I have commitments that I will need to rearrange if it is more than a few days. This is early in day three. I am concerned particularly about the facts that I am rostered on to sing on Sunday. I am guessing I need to get a replacement singer. Can you advise please?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this cold and the effects on your voice. It takes about 5-7days for a flu to get resolved and it may take even longer for you to completely regain your voice and be able to sing at your best. It would not be a nice idea to gamble and keep this program. I will recommend that you get a replacement singer and ask that you be rescheduled for a later date when all must have been well with your voice.
