Question : Thank you for your knowledgeable answers last month.
I took your advice and quit drinking for good. It's been 30 days. How long does it take for liver enzymes to return to normal? I hear people show wait 60 days to get a liver panel after quitting, so they get a good idea of where they are.
Is this accurate?

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
In my clinical practise I repeat the transaminase level 6-8 weeks after quiting alcohol use.
It is not the same period fo all patients, but it is a sufficient time to get first positive results.
This is why I suggest to you to repeat transaminase level after two weeks . If the transaminase level has started to lower than it is a good sign.
Hope it was helpful to you.
