Usually for abortion, mifepristone and misoprostol both are to be taken. Single pill of misoprostol can not cause abortion.

'Mifepristone 1 tablet by mouth alongwith 2 tablets misoprostol placed intravaginally, followed by placing another 2 tablets of misoprostol intravaginally after 12 hours'- this is the usual drug protocol for abortion.

Gestational sac is usually visible after 5 weeks of pregnancy.
Also, Go for transvaginal ultrasound to rule out tubal pregnancy.

That would be too high dose in my opinion.

The mifepristone drug is important as it facilitates placental separation from endometrium.

Misoprostol increases uterine contractions and thus help in expulsion of conception products.
Higher than required doses of misoprostol can cause excessive bleeding and abdominal cramps due to inncreased uterine contraction.

I usually prefer the dose regime as I described in earlier answer.
