Brief Answer: Hi and welcome to HCM Detailed Answer: Thanks for the query. If there was only sprained ankle, without sign of ankle or foot fracture,then you can start to walk 1 days after boot is placed if there is no pain. If there is pain,you should walk with crutches for 4-5 days till pain and swelling subside. If there was fracture than you should walks with crutches for at least 2 weeks and then repeat xrays.
