Question : How long does a reoccurance of shingles last? Im 85, healthy, active, one medication losartan for blood pressure.October 2014 was prior shingles , with swelling still remaining in ankle area. Thank you

For a lifetime the virus stays dormant in the nerves of that region.

Usually the recurrence of shingles lasts for around 5-10 days. The medication losartan or gabapentin is not likely to affect it.
