Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

A medicated stent may be good for years. Currently medicated stents are the best choice because live longer if we compare with other stents (non medicated stents).

When the stent is inserted inside coronary arteries and will stay there for the rest of your life. With time there's a stronger tendency that the stent to be blocked again much faster that your coronary arteries. The medication of a medicated stent oppose the mechanism that try to block the stent. This is why a medicated stent works much longer.

The long life of all the stents (medicated or not) depend also on the severity of atherosclerosis or other disease that you may have. For example If you are obese and have uncontrolled diabetes dyslipidemia and hypertension the risk of stent blockage is very high (and the life of stent is very short).

My suggestion to increase stent life are as follows:
- loose wight
- increase physical activities
- healthy lifestyle and diet
- control BP, dyslipidemia and diabetes.

Hope this was of help!
