How Long Is Rabipur Vaccination Effective Post Completion Of The Course?
Question: Hi i have booster injections for anti rabbies on 0 and 3 day in march due to dog scracth on my leg, yesterday again another street dog scratched on my leg i immediately with in 5 minutes cleaned the body part with soap, do i need to again go for booster injections since its been only 2 months back i had booster injections.

Here,I would like to inform you that any dog bite after the 30 days of your last vaccination or booster shots (here in March 2016), you will need an additional 2 doses of rabies vaccines means 2 booster shots on day 0 and day 3.
Since the dog straw dog scratched on your legs without bleeding wound (category-II as per WHO classification),you should take 2 booster doses of the vaccines for a safer side.
It is good that you immediately washed or cleaned the scratched area with soap and water but the booster shots should be taken.

Thanks Doctor but when i consulted a physician today he said as its been only 2 months i had booster doses, so he given only TT and told not to worry. Let me know now if i have doses post TT will it give any side effects.

You can take booster shots after getting TT injections without any side effects since both vaccines are different.
However,as per WHO guidelines one needs to take another booster shots after 3 months of last vaccination (means full course vaccine) if another suspicious animal bites you.
Since I have suggested you to take shots again for a safer side only because rabies virus antibodies levels in blood starts to decline after 30 days of last vaccination.
Also,in my advise if you are living in high risk area or you have dog exposure frequently then I would say YES you should take another 2 shots of booster of rabies vaccination to ensure maximum antibodies level in blood against rabies virus.
