Hello.

For a drug to be tested in blood or urine, there are specific test kits. To conclusively find out the drug traces , there is a screening test and a confirmatory test. A screening test may come 'false positive' and it is necessary to follow it up with a confirmatory test.

The peak plasma levels of the SSRI (Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitor) group of drugs is reached after 3-8 hours. Cipramil (Citalopram) is an SSRI. It may be assumed that the blood test for Cipramil might reveal the presence as early as 3 hours or up to 8 hours. (average - 4 hours). Some reports mention that Citalopram can be traced in plasma after 2-4 hours. Please read the information provided on the test kits for more information.

Cipramil is metabolized in Liver and only about 10-15% is eliminated in urine. There is no conclusive data on how early can it be detected in Urine. The amount that passes in urine is expected to be too low for most drug screen kits, with a single tablet consumption.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you need more help.
