How Long One Should Have Selomax For High BP?
Question: beenadvised selomax 25/2.5 since have bp 150/90 age 50 no previous issues...will intake for 10 days mean lifetime consumption? doctor has asked to consult after 10 days..

But I am not sure if you have persistently raised blood pressure on different occasions. It is good that you do not have any other medical conditions.

- Why are two medicines prescribed? Initially single drug therapy is advised only when diet and exercise recommendations for three months did not bring the BP down. In your case only amlodipine would be enough.

reading is same yest and today

Selomax 2.5 mg has two components - metoprolol and amlodipine. It is a combination medicine.
Your BP is just over the edge. I think that you should check your BP again in 1 week. Do not take tea or coffee, salty foods, oily foods, etc before this BP reading.
At your age, goal of treatment is to lower BP to less than 140 and/or 90 mmHg.
Get tested by a cardiologist. Also take the medicine after cardiology consult.
