Question : My periodontist removed a small lump that was formed on my gum after an extraction. He did not do a flap just removed the lump. It was not painful at the time but is now that he removed it. How long will that take to heal and also, tooth next to it has started hurting and wondering if that could be referred pain. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
It will be referred pain

Detailed Answer:
Hii first of all thank you for approaching us with your query. I read through it. I must say that healing depends on your body. Normally(excluding diabetic people) healing of wounds especially gums will take around 2 weeks to 3wks time..also there will be obviously pain on the nearby teeth(referred pain). Hope you are on antibiotic and analgesic coverage. Do warm salt water gargle daily. It enhances healing..Have citrus fruits(vit c) boosts healing. Pain will be relieved in few days time. Hope you understood what I meant. Have a healthy day. Dr Rohit
