Question : Hi, I have given 2.5ml Meftal P to my 2 year old daughter (10.2 Kg) at 9.30 PM. However, her fever is constant at 101 F. Can I give her another dose now ? It is 2 AM right now. Is 2.5ml adequate as per her weight ? Should ai give her another dose now or should I wait ?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I guess, she has fever only and no other symptoms. This may be a viral illness and ,ay take 3-4 days to settle.

You can give her paracetamol 4 times daily for 3 days. Give Meftal P only if fever is not coming down after 1 hour of Paracetamo.

For her weight, dose of Paracetamol is 3ml of 250 suspension(eg: Sy Fepanil 250/5ml) and dose of Meftal is 4ml of Sy Meftal-P(100mg/5ml).

If fever persists beyond 4 days or if additional symptoms appear, we can evaluate further
