How Many Ml For 1 Year Old Kid Meftal P Suspension Given?

Hi,
Detailed Answer:
Normally average dose of mefenamic acid in a child is 7 mg/kg body weight, three times a day. Similarly average dose of paracetamol in the child will be 15 mg/kg body weight three times a day. If we take the average weight of one year child as 10 kg ,then the dose of the child should be as 70 mg mefenamic acid & 150 mg paracetamol 3 times a day. As each 5 ml. of syrup meftal-p consists of 100 mg of mefenamic acid & 250 mg of paracetamol. Therefore, the dose for mefenamic acid comes to 3.5 ml & of paracetamol comes to 3.0 ml three times a day. Hence the dose of your child should be 3-3.5 ml of syrup meftal-p, three times a day. A slight dose variation may be done depending on the weight of the child under guidance of your doctor.
Thanks.
