How Much Do CT Scans Increase The Risk Of Cancer?
Question: Please help, how much does radiation from cat scans increase your cancer risk??????
Brief Answer:
Chances are low
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,
it cannot be said in an exact figure, but please be reassured that, even though you had several examinations (as i saw overlooking previous questions) the general cancer risk from that is low! You are exposed to natural radiation every day in the outside world, so these examinations will not make a significant overall difference.
So the increase from the mentioned examinatons is minimal overall. It is advisable to quit smoking by the way when you are so worried about cancer.
Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards

Well the good news is that I quit smoking, I do however, still am exposed to second hand from my husband. The reason why I worry so much, is because I am afraid that my body wouldn't be able to repair the damge it got from the radiation considering I smoked and am still exposed to second hand. That's why I am so worried and when I looked at google, it said that my cancer were high to get cancer from the radiation.
Brief Answer:
Risk slightly higher but please no worries, avoid passive smoke
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,
good you quit smoking, please avoid passive smoke if possible too.
Your cancer risk is slightly higher through the radiation in comparison to no radiation. But please do not overworry about it since that will just not help and it is just a slightly higher chance (no exact figures possible).
