Question: 30 M 5%E2%80%9911 140LBS

I have an appointment to be checked on Tuesday but want to know if this is something that needs checking more urgent.
So last Monday I started to feel ill. I had a very bad sore throat and 100-101 fever. Doctor saw white patches on my throat and gave me antibiotics. 875 amoxicillin. By Thursday night I felt better but I noticed a rash on my thighs. They don%E2%80%99t hurt or itch. Thought maybe it was an allergic reaction. So I went back to the doctor and they said they got flu tests in. They tested me and I was positive. Stopped taking antibiotics did a throat culture which I%E2%80%99m waiting for still. They took a CBC which was normal. It%E2%80%99s now Sunday and I feel better overall. I have a slight cough maybe a little sluggish at worst but no pains anywhere anymore. But now I noticed a rash on my feet and a small one on my wrist. It looks different than the other one. Anyone know what can be the reason for all these rashes?? I have had no fever since last Wednesday and I feel better but this is making me nervous now. Any help would be appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Rule out infectious mono nucleosis

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Thank you for trusting us with your health concern

The sore throat with white patches, and development of skin rash following antibiotic intake is concerning for possibility of infectious mono nucleosis (commonly called mono). Blood test (heterophile antibody testing) can confirm the diagnosis. However, there is nothing to be concerned as mono is caused by virus and it is self limiting.
You can take cetirizine 10 mg at bed time to relieve itching. Also apply calamine for soothening effect. Stay hydrated. And take Tylenol if you have fever.
You do not need to go to urgent care. You can flow up with the appointment as scheduled.
