How Should Zenchent Intake Be Continued After Missing Few Pills?

default
Posted on Tue, 9 Sep 2014
Question: I'm taking Zenchent 0.4/35 birth control. I'm on week 3 and I missed the first 2 pills this week. I got my period this morning. Tonight I should be taking the 3rd pill from the 3rd week in the pack. How should I continue taking this pack of pills? I am not worried about pregnancy. I'm taking this for heavy bleeding and painful cramps.

Brief Answer:
FOLLOW THE ADVICE.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.

You should take two pills at night and two pills the next day, then continue taking one pill daily at the regular time, until the cycle is completed.

If abdominal cramp is more severe, then you should take painkiller (Ibuprofen etc) along with antacid. Maintain genital hygiene properly.

I suggest you to undergo one pelvic ultrasound scan (if NOT done) to rule out the underlying cause and consult with your doctor accordingly.

Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.

Wish your good health and take care yourself.

So, when will my period stop if I take the pills like you say? Also should I continue the entire pack including next weeks placebo pills? My cycle usually starts on the 2nd day of placebo pills.

I did have a pelvic ultrasound and I have uterine fibroids. I just got the test results, but haven't seen my doctor yet for the follow up after the ultrasound. Thanks a lot for your help!!

FOLLOW THE ADVICE.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for follow up query.

Missed pill causes withdrawal bleeding. If bleeding is heavy right now, then you should continue the pills as I have mentioned. It will stop within 3 to 5 days.

You should start taking NEW PILL PACK after completing 3rd week pills and continue as per scheduled time without missing one to avoid irregular bleeding.

Hope, it helps for you. Kindly, close the discussion.

All the best and good luck.

Dr S Patra
