Question : Hello doctor,

Today my daughter suddenly poked her hand in my eye. The white of eye got red(pic attached) and it felt as if its burning/paining. The burning/pain continues.
Please suggest if I need to worry about it or it will heal on its own.
Please prescribe a medicine, if required.

Thanks & Regards

Brief Answer:
cold compresses should work

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am a practising ophthalmologist for few years now. I saw many cases like these.
I saw the pictures.
Please do not worry. There is sub conjunctival hemorrhage. It gets better soon.
You can give cold compresses to the eye by wrapping cold water cloth.
You can put Systane eye drops one drop in the eye.
Let me know if you have any concerns I can address promptly.
