How Should Fecal Impaction Be Managed And Treated?
Question: My mom has a large bowel moment stuck I. Her Anus we used 2 suppositories Vaseline and it won’t come out she has just undergone chemo for ovarian cancer and a shot for her white blood cell to halt infection . What can I do now she is very uncomfortable and I can see the stool right by the opening but it won’t move ?

Polyethylene glycol-electrolyte solution is used to empty the colon. PEG-ES is in a class of medications called osmotic laxatives. It works by causing watery diarrhea so that the stool can be emptied from the colon.
Polyethylene glycol-electrolyte solution (PEG-ES) comes as a powder to mix with water and take by mouth. You let her to drink one 8 ounces of PEG-ES every 10 or 15 minutes and to continue drinking until her liquid bowel movements are clear. It will clear her bowel.
In case if it also does not help, go for Digital manual evacuation. It involves the use of fingers to aid in the removal of stool from the rectum. The stool is emptied by gently inserting a lubricated gloved finger into the rectum and removing it.
You can even see digital bowel evacuation video online and do it by yourself or take her to the nearby ER and get it done by a Nursing stuff.

What can she do to avoid having this happen again as she has 2 more chemos and 5 more shots coming next thru Aug? It seems after the shots this starts to happen and first the chemo is given then 2 shots follow for each session for her white blood cells. It starts with cramping and gas then constipation
