Question : My husband has been suffering from fever for the past three days. We met a doctor yesterday and he's taking antibiotic norflox tz in the morning and evening. However, he still has a temperature of 104f. Should we continue with the current medication or take immediate medical care?

Hi,

Antibiotics do not work instantly unfortunately, they can take 36 to 48 hours for a minimal effect to occur.

This means that he still has some time before you may start to feel some small improvement from the antibiotics if they are appropriate. If there is no change by 48 hours then he should be reassessed.

Paracetamol or ibuprofen, can be used for the fever along with cool or cold liquids.
