Question : I am typing for a friend who does not have a computer. Her problem is her left leg. Xrays show no break.

Intense pain begins below the knee and extends to the ankle. There is excessive pain. Also below the ankle the foot is numb. She has low level nausea. There are no breaks in the skin, she does not have any temperature, no high blood pressure and no diabetes. He Dr's Physician assistant has recommended her to see an Orthopedic Specialist. Pain has been going on for 45 days and is increasing. Any recommendations knowing this much, Woman is in her mid 80"s.

Thank you

Brief Answer:
Suspected deep vein thrombosis.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I suspect that your friend may be suffering from deep vein thrombosis.
She should meet an angiologist rather than an orthopedist or go to the ER.
A doppler ultrasound should be performed to ses the blood flow in limb veins and arteries.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
