Question : I just started seeing a flashing white light, that flashes in time with my pulse, out of the left side of my left eye. I have no history of eye problems other than being nearsighted and have astigmatism. Should I go to the ER, and if I do, what could they do for me anyway?

This requires detailed retinal examination by a retina specialist.Till an appointment is made,what you have to do is to avoid heavy,jerky movement, excessive strain.This includes weights and games like badminton..
I expect some changes at the periphery of retina, which if there have to be dealt with depending upon their severity.
