Brief Answer:
Can be muscular spasm related to posture.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

A pain in middle of the back and shoulder is likely to be a posture related muscle spasm. You need to avoid using a pillow and take frequent stretch breaks specially while working on computer.

You can start with mild pain killers like Aleve after meals and apply a local analgesic gel after a hot compress. In case the pain is persistent then do get an oral muscle relaxant prescribed by your physician. Regular stretching exercises will help in the long term.

I hope this answers your query. In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
Regards,
Dr. Praveen Tayal
