Question : My wife of 40 plus years ,yes, she recently turned 80! Is experiencing severe pain on the right sight of her abdomen. It is tender to touc,h and rather disabling. There is no vomiting however she is really not doing well.

Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, there can be various reasons for severe pain on right side of abdomen as appendicitis, calculus in gall bladder or urinary system or others.

* Your primary focus should be immediate pain relief with anti spasmodic medication as dicyclomine or drotaverine in form of tablet or injection from your primary care provider.

* Secondary goal should be prescription of an ultrasound for the diagnosis of the pain and further curative management.
